Beginning my Journey into the Photography Business World

Introduction

Heyo! First off let me tell you how happy I am that you decided to learn more about Mountain Lens Studio. As of writing this post, I am about 2 weeks into developing, managing, and marketing my website and canvas prints online in this eCommerce world. Let me tell you it was not easy.

My Story

I grew up taking photos of landscapes, nature, and anything I could honestly. This was done on a phone; the quality wasn't the best but living in Colorado I needed to capture its beauty. When I got my first camera very recently, I instantly fell in love with taking photos and editing them. I showed these photos to anyone who would look at them and got lots of feedback. If everyone I showed them to thought, they were great why not put them on canvas?

The First Piece

When I got the first canvas, I was hopeful the quality would come out well. I attached the photo below this. It stayed really good, with no grain or blotches in the canvas. I knew this could be shared with everyone, so I decided to make this business and website.

The Start of my Journey

The process of developing a website was difficult. Learning how to do all the business side of owning a business and all the legal jargon that goes into it was no joke. After spending around 100+ hours working on this website and doing research it is finally at a good starting point. I spent the last of my money being a broke college student getting the website and all the stuff that goes into background management, but it was worth it. Money comes and goes, but if it allows me to share my hobby and new-found passion with everyone then it's worth it. Hopefully, this start to the New Year will propel me as far as possible in growing my knowledge and skill set.
